~Updates 2006~

A whole year has passed since we celebrated and mourned the birth and death of our little girl Jessica Grace. It feels like such a long time ago some days and some days it feels like it was just yesterday! Our pain has eased slightly, and the tears don't flow as often, but it has a way of sneaking up on you when you least expect it...

We went to Jessica's grave today to remember her and place some flowers there. I wanted to take some balloons with me but it must have been the most windiest day in Brisbane that they would not have lasted and just blown away! Typical... We spent some time there just thinking about what might have been, and trying to imagine what Jessica would have looked like today? And how our lives would have been so much different to how it is now..

We received some lovely cards and letters from family and friends who have shared this hard journey with us and know that they still do in their own silent way..We love you all!

So it is with great joy that John and I can announce that we are expecting another baby in May 2007! After another 9 fertility cycles, and thinking that we would never get there, we have been blessed and given another chance to have another child! We would both like to thank  Dr Douglas keeping in helping us to achieve our goal, and all the lovely nurses in the blood section for their on going support and care..

We are now 14 weeks pregnant and have had the first lot of tests performed, which was the Transnuchal Fold Scan to measure the fluid on the back of baby's neck and along with that blood tests too.. The fluid measured 1.6mm and my bloods were excellent! So we are now in the low risk category, we can both breath a small sigh of relief getting this far...

The next test will be in January 2007 to have a detailed scan of the baby's heart, let's hope that all our tests are as good as the ones that we have just had done!

We will keep you updated as we go along.
